Inter Region Visit
There have been a number of ideas over the past decade that we have implemented in Manhattan that have come from our annual Inter-Region visits to other parts of the country. This year's event is set for Sept. 26 and 27. We will travel south to Oklahoma and make stops in Wichita, Oklahoma City and Norman to learn about key initiatives in those cities.
This year's venture to Wichita will be the first in-state visit we have made as part of these trips. We will learn about their efforts in diversity (DEI), young professionals and military affairs. We will also get the opportunity to meet the "new" Wichita Chamber CEO, John Rolfe, and start building a relationship between our two organizations. We have more in common with the Wichita Chamber than you might think with our efforts to support Board of Regents universities and the military. After a brief stop in Wichita, we will visit the University of Oklahoma's Oklahoma City campus, then the next morning one of the more impressive career technology centers in Norman, Moore-Norman Technology Center. We will hear about entrepreneurship programming, skills-based training, site development, university economic development and workforce housing.
We will end the tour on day two with a stop of the Wichita State Innovation Campus.
This year's event will be $395 and will include transportation, one night's hotel in Oklahoma City's Bricktown District and three meals. Register here.
