Originally started around 1967, the award was renamed in 1991 to honor the late Lud Fiser. Fiser served this community as an educator, a football coach and a leader of dozens of youth and adult projects. He served as Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber for 27 years. Throughout his life his selfless commitment and effort to improve Manhattan provided inspiration to countless numbers of people of all ages.
