Our diplomat and ambassador programs have been a good way for people to get started. These individuals have been very important in assisting our Chamber team with connections to new members and serving in volunteer roles at a variety of events, among other duties. We are excited to be rolling out a new version of the diplomats that combines many of our volunteer roles into one group. At the same time, we believe we have created a program that will not only be more fulfilling to those that participate but with elevate their role in the organization even further. The goal of the new diplomat committee is to help new members form a connection with the Chamber. We are creating several ways to participate, so members can choose their own path. One way a diplomat can engage is through new member mentorship. A member will be assigned to new members to help guide them through the onboarding process. This is incredibly important to the organization as the highest turnover rate for membership in Chambers across the country is in the first two years. Other duties with which diplomats can engage is event greeters and ribbon cutting supporters. The new program will have a point system to track participation and high achieving members will receive recognition at events held quarterly. Additionally, diplomats will be recognized on the Chamber’s website with a picture and the name of their business. Another change to the program is how you become a member. There is an application process to become a member of the new program. Applications may be completed anytime but will be reviewed twice a year. As you might expect, you must be a Chamber member to join. We are excited to be rolling out this new opportunity for member engagement. Find more information here. |
