Blade Mages was recognized as the 2023 Young Professional of the Year during Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Meeting at Manhattan Conference Center, Feb. 9.
Mages is the fourth recipient of the Young Professional of the Year award.
Blade Mages has been engaged in the community since attending Kansas State University and founding his business in 2008. He is a 2017 Leadership Manhattan graduate and a 2023 15 Under 40 winner.
In 2019, Blade led the reorganization and rebranding of the chamber’s young professionals’ program, Hype (Helping Young Professionals Emerge.) He was also the major force behind MHK Together, a philanthropic project by the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation that put over $500,000 into the community during the Covid shutdowns.
Blade spends a great deal of time giving to the community in a variety of ways and through a variety of organizations. His most recent non-profit passion is the renovation of the Wareham. Blade has developed an incredible vision for what that facility can be and is working to raise the funds to make it a world-class entertainment venue. He also has been a leader in the Incite MHK organization which works to add public art to the community including the addition of murals across Manhattan.
Blade has an entrepreneurial spirit, a servant’s heart and a genuine passion for Manhattan.
The Chamber’s Young Professional of the Year award honors an outstanding young professional for the variety of professional and philanthropic roles they serve that make a difference throughout our community.
